The XDS Insider fairway woods derive their name from the very subtle visual aligning aids on the crown as well as the shape to encourage one to swing on an inside-out swing path. This is important not only to provide increased distance, but accuracy and a solid feel at impact. Golfers that swing on an outside-in path or sometimes called over the top move end up slicing the ball and losing confidence in their clubs. The Acer XDS Insider fairways were designed to prevent that.

Each numbered fairway wood in this series has a different face angle to help deliver the clubface square upon impact. For the average golfer, the lower the loft and longer the club, the more likely the clubface will be open at impact. But with our Square Optical Alignment System, it provides a “square” appearance to each club and creates a consistent appearance. This eliminates the need to make minor adjustments ball placement in the stance or how the golfer aligns to the target instead of letting the club do what it was intended to do.

While we have explained the Acer XDS Insider has technology you can see, it also has three other features you can’t see. A substantial amount of additional internal weighting was placed deep within the head to provide increased stability and create a higher launch angle. This is only possible by incorporating our exclusive Variable Crown Technology to lighten the crown area. We also have a variable thickness face for more explosive distance and incredible feel at impact.

The shallow face design and 4 way radius sole reduces contact with the turf for any course condition making this series one, if not, the most user-friendly fairway woods on the market today geared for the average golfer.

Finally, an innovative stainless steel fairway series that allows total game management by offering lofts to suit a player’s individual needs! There are three important technological features that make these higher performance clubs. First, we incorporated our variable face thickness to reduce the perimeter area of the impact area so the entire club face could be more active. This acts to increase the area of forgiveness over a larger portion of the face. Secondly, the crowns were constructed with exclusive VCT (variable crown technology) and measure as little as 0.5mm thick. All the unwanted weight normally reserved for the crown was repositioned deep within the head. Lastly, the wide profile increases the Moment of Inertia. All these features provide for a high launching ball flight with incredible accuracy. Versatility is another word to describe the Acer XK fairways. Multiple lofts are offered including those not commonly found from a strong 3-wood for players who have no problem getting the ball airborne to a high-lofted 9-wood. One addition is a 4-wood for those players wanting just one fairway wood in their bag. This allows you to add an extra wedge or hybrid to your set and stay within the 14 club minimum. Also, our 4-wood is an outstanding solo fairway wood for ladies or seniors looking for the perfect partner to a high-lofted driver.

Every small detail was thoroughly examined from the squared off heel and toe areas, reduced face progression, decal size and locations to the masking of the paint lines. Golfers spend tens of millions of dollars each year try to find that one club to give them the maximum distance and forgiveness off of the tee. With certain rules in place by the USGA that put caps on technology, soon your distance could be maxed out. But as we age and golf courses continue to become longer and longer, it is going to be harder to reach those long par 4s in regulation or the possibility of reaching a par 5 in two... until now! Our R&D department spared no expense and ingenuity in creating that same ideology of maximum distance and forgiveness off the tee, but transformed that into the ultimate fairway wood the - Caiman Rawpower Forged Fairway Wood. First, we started out with an ultra-thin maraging steel face insert to increase the ball speed coming off of the face approaching the legal COR limit for spring-like effect. This is no easy task as the small face area of a fairway wood does not flex nearly as much as a modern driver face. In addition to the "hot" face we elected to utilize "cup face" technology. This moves the weld significantly behind the face will possess a greater trampoline effect over the entire hitting surface resulting into greater distance rather than just the center of the face. For accuracy, most golfers can hit a 5-wood reasonably well, but when they need extra distance they pull their 3-wood out and all of the sudden they hit the club with less than satisfactory results. Why? The extra 1 inch in length makes it a little harder to return the club to the ball in a square position. This is one reason why we decided to make the head heavier to increase the solidness of contact. Think of it as a very low lofted 5-wood. Combined with the unique geometric shape we moved as much weight deep in the rear of the club as possible to create a very highest moment of inertia possible with a clubhead this size. This is the longest and straightest fairway wood we every produced, but it is still extremely user-friendly to hit off of the ground. For those golfers serious about their game, the Caiman forged fairway is a must-have club to bridge the gap between the driver and their longest control club.
