If you thought hybrids were easy to hit, the much expanded Acer XDS 'Wide Sole' Hybrid design offers you much more than current hybrid design. In fact, the design is based on fairway wood parameters that allow for the super high launch characteristics that make these hybrids easy to play. This set gradually decreases the volume or size of the head as the loft is increased and less help is usually needed. The rearward center-of-gravity of this hybrid design is enhanced by the rails at the soleplate to help you power through the grass and prevent 'digging' at impact for better quality contact with the ball. With its leading edge designed well forward of the hosel, you will be able to create more lift and produce higher launch angle thus more distance! This game- improvement set of hybrids will allow you to hit that high arching shot that you've always dreamed of hitting. The new Acer XK hybrids are based on the most popular hybrid platform in our line, but we added a few new design elements to further improve upon the performance. First, we incorporated a variable face thickness to reduce the perimeter area of the impact area so the entire club face could be more active. This acts to increase the area of forgiveness over a larger portion of the face. Secondly, the crowns were constructed with our exclusive VCT (variable crown technology) that measure as little as 0.5mm thick. All the unwanted weight normally reserved for the crown was repositioned deep within the head for added stability, feel and added trajectory to hold greens better. Length and lofts were selected to be exact replacements for the same numbered long irons in terms of yardage.

The Power Play Caiman hybrid is a high-performance option to replace those long, hard-to-hit irons in the bag with some of the latest technological know-how. The pull-face construction utilizes an active maraging face insert welded to the 4-31 stainless body to help increase the spring-like effect and further save weight. Additionally, the score lines are CNC milled rather than cast or stamped into the hard S42 face material. A variable crown thickness (as little as 0.5mm) in the non-stress area of the head, which is the thickness of 5 sheets of paper! This concept was utilized to shift needless weight to a more desirable location deep and low within the head to propel the ball high and land soft. Weights and lofts are normalized so they produce repeatable and predictable distances to the same numbered iron. This makes it easier for the average golfer to fill a particular yardage gap without guessing at which loft to purchase.

Most hybrid profiles continue the same profile throughout the set. To gain maximum effectiveness, however, the long irons should be wider soled for maximum forgiveness, and the short irons should be scalloped for effective shortgame play. Part hollow-bodied iron, part hybrid, the Dynacraft Avatar XMOI is our first hybrid set to take on a truly progressive appearance throughout the set. For the weekend warrior who wants to improve their game this set perfectly integrates all the necessary tools to help them achieve that goal. The #3 and 4 irons have a wider footprint sporting an increased breadth and shallow face. This positions the center of gravity much lower and more rearward within the design to give less skilled players added confidence and the ability to easily get the ball airborne and also increase solidness of contact. The mid-irons progressively become narrower (as less game improvement is required) and bridge the gap between a conventional iron appearance. The scoring clubs starting with the #8 look traditional at address. The additional loft beautifully hides the hollow-body but still helps to increase the moment of inertia. The rounded toplines provide plenty of face area and raise the center of gravity enough to control the trajectory. The inclusion of three wedges provide for better course management by eliminating distance gaps.

The largest hybrids in the line complements the Mantara family with its distinctive look. Utilizing the same concept as the Mantara family, the square profile moves the center of gravity rearward and creates a higher MOI. Designed to replace traditional #3, 4 and 5-irons, these are large volume clubs for maximum forgiveness on off-center shots. The unique rectangular shape helps provide unbelievable performance on a design to replace harder-to-hit long irons. Weight is redistributed to the two rear corners to provide increased stability by raising the moment of inertia about the center of gravity. The unpainted portion along front of the crown is an added alignment feature to complement the rectangular profile and slight offset hosel to assist in squaring the face toward the target. Precision cast from 17-4 stainless steel and created with a special glider sole to reduce turf drag in addition to fat shots.
